Lincoln, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left a 66-year-old man seriously injured early Thursday morning in Lincoln.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 6:21 a.m. on September 18 to a home on the 29000 block of Fleatown Road after receiving a report of a shooting. Preliminary findings indicate that an unknown suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door and allegedly shot the victim in the chest while he was sleeping.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities said the suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. Detectives with the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continue to actively investigate.
