Delaware State Police Arrest Wilmington Man for New Castle County Gas Station Robberies

Wilmington, DE – Delaware State Police arrested a 38-year-old Wilmington man for a series of armed robberies at New Castle County gas stations.

Troopers responded to a robbery at the Star Gas Station on Kirkwood Highway on August 28, 2024. The suspect, identified as Joshua Liebal, allegedly entered the gas station, brandished a knife, and demanded cash. He fled in a silver GMC Envoy with an undisclosed amount of money.

During the investigation, troopers located the vehicle near the scene and stopped it. Liebal, who matched the suspect’s description, was taken into custody without incident.

Liebal was also reportedly linked to two other armed robberies in the past two days, including incidents on August 26 and August 27. Detectives also discovered that Liebal had a warrant for a July 24 shoplifting incident in Millsboro.

Liebal faces multiple charges, including robbery and conspiracy. He is currently held on a $64,000 cash bond. The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges pending.
