Delaware — A restless wind is already stirring across the Delaware Valley this Halloween morning, whistling through trees and scattering leaves along roadways from Wilmington to Philadelphia. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 10 a.m. through midnight, warning of gusts up to 50 mph that could bring down small branches and cause spotty power interruptions.
Travelers using I-95, Route 202, and the Delaware Memorial Bridge should be alert to crosswinds and flying debris through the afternoon and evening. Residents are urged to secure decorations, trash bins, and outdoor furniture before conditions worsen. High-profile vehicles may experience difficulty on exposed stretches, especially across bridges and open farmland areas.
Skies remain mostly sunny, but the wind will dominate the day, with temperatures climbing to around 59°F before falling into the mid-40s by evening. Trick-or-treaters should bundle up — gusts will make it feel several degrees cooler as dusk settles.
By Saturday, calmer air returns under bright sunshine. Temperatures stay seasonable, with highs near 60°F and light west winds — perfect for leaf cleanup or a quick trip to local farms before the cold sets in. Sunday brings another mild, quiet day with highs in the low 60s, before models hint at a stronger cold front early next week. That front could introduce a more dramatic temperature drop and perhaps the first early-November frost across inland valleys.
The first days of November will feel sharply different — clear skies, crisp mornings, and a signal that winter’s slow approach has begun across the Mid-Atlantic.
