Georgetown, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a violent home invasion and robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon on Zoar Road in Georgetown. Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m., where they discovered that a 36-year-old man, identified as Lyndon King, had forcibly entered the home. The 69-year-old female resident arrived while King was still inside.
King allegedly threatened the victim, pushing her to the ground and preventing her from calling 9-1-1 by taking the house phone. He then fled the scene in the victim’s Chevrolet Trax after stealing her cell phone.
Authorities quickly tracked the vehicle to Salisbury, Maryland, where King was apprehended near a local Staples by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police Department. The victim was unharmed.
King, a known fugitive who had walked away from Sussex Community Corrections Center, now faces multiple charges, including robbery, home invasion burglary, and terroristic threatening of a senior citizen. Delaware State Police continue their investigation, urging anyone with information to contact them. King remains in custody in Maryland pending extradition to Delaware.
