Dover, DE – Two Dover men face second-degree murder charges after the March 17 assault of a 77-year-old woman who later died from her injuries, police said.

According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded to a home on the 1300 block of Wyoming Mill Road on March 20 to perform a welfare check after receiving a report from a healthcare provider. Inside the residence, they found Lynda Carson-Fizer deceased with visible injuries.

Detectives allege Brandon Holland, 38, assaulted Carson-Fizer during an argument on March 17. Following the assault, Holland and a second suspect, 43-year-old Edward Jobes, allegedly fled the scene, leaving the victim with no means to call for help. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit launched an investigation into the suspicious circumstances.

Authorities arrested Holland and Jobes without incident on March 23. Both were charged with second-degree murder and arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 7. Each was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,000,000 cash bond. Holland also faces a charge of criminal contempt.

The investigation remains active. Police urge anyone with information to contact Detective Daniel Grassi at 302-365-8441 or reach out anonymously through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
