Dearborn, MI – Police arrested a Redford man Saturday afternoon following an alleged home invasion on Cleveland Street in Dearborn. Officers responded at 12:15 p.m. to reports of an intruder, later identified as Kwame Lewis Jones, 29.
Authorities say Jones was seen pacing outside the residence before forcing entry. According to witnesses, he allegedly confronted the homeowner by placing his hands around their neck. The homeowner escaped Jones’ grasp, suffering minor injuries, and exited the house. Witnesses reported seeing Jones flee the scene soon after.
Later investigation revealed an earlier incident involving Jones, who allegedly assaulted a second person on Monroe Street while they filled a car tire. Following these events, Wayne County Prosecutors filed multiple charges against Jones, including first-degree home invasion and assault.
On Monday, Jones appeared before Judge Gene Hunt at the 19th District Court. He received a $50,000 bond with GPS monitoring. His probable cause hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 8 a.m.
