The department suggests residents take action by promptly retrieving packages upon arrival. They also recommend utilizing package tracking services to know exactly when deliveries are made and to install video doorbells, which can act as a deterrent and assist in monitoring.
Additionally, Dearborn police encourage considering lockboxes or secure pickup locations, which many retailers now offer. They stress the importance of requesting signatures upon delivery to ensure packages are handed directly to the recipient.
