Dayton, OH – Montgomery County detectives are asking witnesses to come forward as they investigate a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured south of Dayton.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 11:02 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, to the intersection of Paragon Road and State Route 725 after a witness reported finding an injured pedestrian.
Investigators later determined that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Paragon Road near Spring Valley Pike. The driver allegedly left the area following the collision, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office did not release the pedestrian’s name or provide an updated medical condition beyond saying the victim suffered serious injuries. Authorities also did not provide a description of the vehicle or driver being sought.
Detectives with the agency’s Traffic Services Unit are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, saw suspicious activity nearby or may have relevant video footage to contact investigators. Information from dashboard cameras, home surveillance systems or nearby businesses could help establish what occurred and identify the vehicle involved.
Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person allegedly responsible for the crash.
