Dayton, OH – A violent multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery County left one driver ejected and sent two people to local hospitals Thursday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash occurred around 2 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Main Street and Shoup Mill Road in the Dayton area.

Investigators said a black 2009 Chevrolet Impala traveling north on North Main Street collided with a white 2023 Kia Seltos and then a yellow 2015 Ford van as both vehicles attempted to turn left from southbound North Main Street onto eastbound Shoup Mill Road.

According to authorities, after the initial collisions, the Impala continued northbound, rotated approximately 180 degrees, and left the roadway onto the sidewalk before striking two utility poles.

The sheriff’s office said the Impala then bounced off the second utility pole, ejecting the driver from the vehicle. The car continued east into a Speedway gas station parking lot before striking an unoccupied black 2008 Kia Sorento parked near the gas pumps.

Officials confirmed the driver of the parked Sorento was actively pumping gas at the time but was not injured.

Medics with the Harrison Township Fire Department transported the drivers of the Kia Seltos and the Impala to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Unit continues investigating the crash.
