Davidson County, NC – A traffic stop in the Thomasville area Thursday led to the arrest of a local woman now facing felony drug charges, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the stop occurred on April 23, 2026, Thursday, when detectives with the T.R.A.C.E. Team pulled over a Toyota SUV near Boggs Road and Hillcrest Drive for a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies identified a passenger as 47-year-old Lisa Tussey of Thomasville.
Authorities said Tussey was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. She was taken into custody at the scene and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tussey was transported to the Davidson County Detention Center, where she was held without bond due to being on pretrial release in a separate matter, officials said. Jail records confirm she remains in custody pending further proceedings.
According to authorities, Tussey is scheduled to appear in Davidson County Court on April 2026. Additional details about the prior case connected to her pretrial status were not immediately released.
Under North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, conditions of release in criminal cases are determined by judicial officials, not law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
This case remains under investigation by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team.
