Davenport, IA – The death of a woman initially suspected of a drug overdose in August has been ruled a homicide, prompting further investigation by Davenport police.
On August 31, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue following reports of a possible overdose. Upon arrival, they found 33-year-old Madeline Bakoylis unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene.
According to Davenport police, an autopsy completed on October 10 determined that Bakoylis’ death was a homicide. Authorities have not released further details about the cause of death or potential suspects.
The investigation is ongoing, but police have assured the public that there is no known threat to safety at this time.
