Darke County, Ohio – A three-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 36 injured three people Friday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency emergency response.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 3:57 p.m. on February 27 to the 7600 block of U.S. 36 along with Gettysburg Fire, Rescue, and Bradford Rescue crews.

Preliminary investigation indicates a black Honda Civic driven by Josie Camacho, 21, of New Madison, was traveling westbound and had slowed for ducks that entered the roadway. Authorities say the vehicle was then rear-ended by a gray Ford F-350 driven by a 17-year-old male from Bradford.

The impact allegedly caused the Honda to spin into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by a white Chrysler Town & Country van driven by Timothy Doubledee, 66, of Bradford.

Camacho was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment. Doubledee was taken to Wayne HealthCare. The teenage driver was evaluated at the scene by EMS and released.

Officials did not immediately release the extent of injuries. Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted during the emergency response and investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

This stretch of U.S. 36 is frequently traveled by commuters and students in western Ohio.
