Greenville, OH – Traffic was disrupted Thursday night after an oversized semi-truck struck an overpass along U.S. Route 127 near State Route 49, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire Department, ODOT, and Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement, responded to the crash at approximately 7:51 p.m. on October 30, 2025.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Brown 2026 Peterbilt 567 driven by Faromaz Shakhpandarov, 45, of Dayton, was hauling an oversized load north on U.S. Route 127 when it struck the overpass while attempting to pass State Route 49. A nearby 2015 GMC Acadia, driven by Mary Hanes, 44, of Union City, IN, was also traveling north in the left lane and was hit by falling debris.

No injuries were reported, but both vehicles sustained damage. The overpass required inspection by ODOT before reopening. By 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, officials confirmed that all lanes were clear for normal traffic.

Investigators determined that the truck’s load violated multiple permit restrictions. Mr. Shakhpandarov was cited for Oversized Load Permit violations and fined by OSP Motor Carrier Enforcement.
