Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is bracing for a week of dangerous weather conditions, with the National Weather Service issuing warnings for severe storms and extreme heat. Multiple rounds of storms are expected today, with a weakening complex this morning followed by redevelopment this afternoon and evening. Severe storms may bring damaging winds, heavy rain, and localized flooding.

According to the US National Weather Service, these storms are capable of producing gusts of over 60 mph and isolated tornadoes. The highest threat is anticipated after 7 PM tonight. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.

Aside from the threat of thunderstorms, dangerous heat is expected to grip central Indiana from Tuesday through Thursday. Heat index values are predicted to reach or exceed 100 degrees.
