Fitchburg, WI – Early-morning shoppers and workers at a Fitchburg gas station were shaken Monday after police say a man allegedly caused a disturbance and was arrested on a sixth offense OWI while on parole.

According to the Fitchburg Police Department, officers responded around 2:40 a.m. Monday to a panic alarm at the Mobil gas station on Fish Hatchery Road, where employees reported a man threatening people inside the store.

Police say officers located and detained Marcus McGee, 30, of Fitchburg, upon arrival. An investigation revealed McGee allegedly arrived at the gas station in a vehicle and backed into a concrete barrier in the parking lot before entering the store.

According to police, McGee allegedly created a disturbance inside the business and confronted a security guard in a threatening manner. Officers suspected McGee was under the influence of alcohol, prompting an OWI investigation.

Police say McGee has five prior OWI convictions and is currently on parole for a previous felony OWI. Officers reported that McGee refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests.

McGee was arrested on multiple charges, including Operating While Intoxicated (6th offense), Operating After Revocation, Disorderly Conduct, and a Parole Violation, according to police.

Authorities confirmed no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The arrest occurred in Fitchburg, located in Dane County, just south of Madison, a busy area with late-night traffic and overnight businesses.

The case remains under investigation. All charges are allegations, and McGee is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
