Pueblo, CO – Strong winds are expected to impact eastern Colorado through Wednesday morning, prompting a High Wind Warning for the region. Winds are forecast to intensify overnight, creating hazardous travel conditions, especially for high-profile and light vehicles.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, wind gusts could reach up to 80 MPH over eastern El Paso County and areas near the Kansas border. A powerful cold front has pushed south across the plains, exacerbating conditions and increasing the risk of blowing dust and reduced visibility.

The High Wind Warning remains in effect until 12 PM Wednesday, affecting El Paso, Pueblo, and southeastern Colorado counties. Residents and travelers are urged to use caution, particularly on east-west oriented roads, where strong crosswinds may make driving treacherous.

Authorities advise securing loose outdoor objects and preparing for possible power outages due to downed trees and power lines. The winds are expected to gradually subside by Wednesday afternoon.
