Dallas, TX – Widespread record-breaking heat is expected across North and Central Texas this weekend, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, highs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are forecast to reach around 93 degrees Friday, followed by 97 degrees Saturday and Sunday. These values approach or exceed daily records for mid-March.

Further south, cities including Waco, Temple, and Killeen are expected to see highs in the low to mid-90s through the weekend, also nearing record levels.

Forecasters note temperatures will run more than 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, driven by persistent high pressure and dry conditions.

The National Weather Service emphasizes that the combination of heat and dry weather will increase the risk of heat-related stress, especially for those spending extended time outdoors.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.

A cold front is expected to move through early next week, bringing some relief with cooler temperatures by Monday.

The early-season heat may impact outdoor activities, travel, and work schedules as conditions peak over the weekend.
