Texas – The heat is already building across North Texas this morning, and by the time the weekend arrives, temperatures will surge into the mid-90s, pushing the region into early-season summer-like conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, highs will reach near 90°F by Thursday afternoon in Dallas–Fort Worth, then climb to 93°F Friday and peak around 95°F through the weekend. This puts temperatures more than 20 degrees above normal for mid-March, with no rainfall expected to provide relief.

Across North and Central Texas, including Waco, Killeen, Sherman, and Denison, the heat will expand quickly. Waco and Killeen are expected to reach 95°F by Saturday, while Sherman climbs into the low 90s. Dry air and breezy winds between 10 and 20 mph will increase fire danger, especially in open fields and rural areas.

Drivers along I-35 and I-20 should prepare for heat glare and fatigue during afternoon travel. Outdoor workers and spring break travelers should take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. Avoid leaving children or pets in vehicles, as temperatures inside cars can rise rapidly within minutes.

This early spring heat wave continues through the weekend before easing slightly early next week, though above-normal warmth is expected to persist.
