Crawfordsville, IN – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will begin paving US 231 south of Market Street in Crawfordsville on Wednesday. The work is expected to wrap up by the end of August, weather permitting, but lane restrictions will remain in place for the busy weekend of August 23-25.
According to the City of Crawfordsville, this weekend will see a surge of visitors for the Ironman National race at Ironman Raceway and the Taste of Montgomery County. Traffic is anticipated to be heavier than usual, particularly on US 231, leading to potential delays. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the area if possible, especially on Saturday evening, when traffic is expected to peak.
The City encourages patience as officers will be on hand to assist motorists. For more information on the construction project, INDOT can be reached at their toll-free customer service number, 1-855-463-6848.
