Corpus Christi, Texas – Scattered thunderstorms and dangerous heat will continue across South Texas through the weekend, bringing afternoon downpours and sweltering conditions to the Coastal Plains and Victoria Crossroads. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach 100–105°F, with heat index values pushing into the 110s in some inland areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, storm chances increase along the sea breeze, especially in the afternoons from Wednesday through Sunday. The highest rain coverage is expected Wednesday across the Coastal Plains, Saturday around the Victoria Crossroads, and again Sunday along the coast.

Cities including Corpus Christi, Beeville, Alice, and Victoria may see localized flooding from slow-moving thunderstorms, along with lightning hazards that could disrupt outdoor plans and beach activities. With high humidity and little overnight relief, NWS advises limiting strenuous activity, drinking plenty of water, and checking on vulnerable neighbors.

Travelers should be alert for sudden heavy downpours reducing visibility along I-37, US-59, and coastal highways. Beachgoers will also face rip current risks during periods of stronger onshore flow.

Storm chances remain in place through the weekend, with heat indices staying near dangerous levels. More advisories are possible if rainfall or heat becomes more widespread.
