Bandon, Ore. – A 33-year-old man was arrested after an alleged assault and threat near Bandon on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. Sunday to the area of Seven Devils Road and County Road 166 following a report of a dispute.

Deputies said they contacted multiple individuals at the scene and conducted an investigation. One person told authorities that Robert L. Schnur allegedly assaulted someone with his hands and then threatened them with a collapsible baton.

Following the investigation, Schnur was arrested on suspicion of Domestic Menacing and Assault IV (Domestic), according to the sheriff’s office. He was transported to the Coos County Jail.

Authorities emphasized that police action is not indicative of guilt and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The incident occurred outside Bandon in a rural area near County Road 166, drawing a response from sheriff’s deputies during the early afternoon hours.
