Quad Cities, Iowa/Illinois – Patchy fog could make for low visibility early Friday morning across the Quad Cities before a cold front ushers in a much cooler, more comfortable weekend. Drivers should be alert before sunrise as fog is expected to form in low-lying areas, especially near rivers and open fields.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, the fog will clear quickly after sunrise Friday, followed by warm highs in the low 80s. By Friday night, a cold front will sweep across eastern Iowa and western Illinois, bringing scattered showers and a few thunderstorms—mainly after 10 p.m., with the highest rain chances north of Interstate 80. No severe weather is expected.
Saturday will start off cloudy but gradually dry out, with highs ranging from 73–82°F. Behind the front, temperatures drop noticeably, with Sunday topping out near 70°F and dew points falling into the 50s. Sunshine and dry air will make the weekend ideal for outdoor plans in Davenport, Moline, and surrounding areas.
Looking ahead, Monday continues the cool-down, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and overnight lows potentially dipping into the upper 40s.
