Chicago, IL – A 20-year-old inmate at Cook County Jail faces new charges after authorities discovered synthetic drugs hidden in his cell. Terrell Gordon was indicted for possessing contraband after a routine search uncovered drug-soaked paper concealed in toilet paper.
On May 18, correctional staff spotted Gordon jumping off a bunk bed and hiding a folded piece of toilet paper in his pants. Staff retrieved the item and found paper inside, which was later tested at an Illinois State Police lab. The lab confirmed the presence of synthetic cannabinoids.
According to officials, Gordon has been in custody since February 25 on armed robbery charges. A Cook County Grand Jury indicted him on September 27 for possession of contraband in a penal institution.
Gordon remains in custody as his legal proceedings continue.
