Bridgeport, CT – Connecticut will step into a Cold December pattern as an Arctic Blast spreads across New England from Monday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 5, bringing colder-than-normal temperatures and light snow chances statewide.

According to the National Weather Service, early-week disturbances will bring a mix of rain and snow to portions of the state, with higher chances for snow inland and during the overnight hours. Temperatures are expected to fall into the low 20s, with some interior areas dipping into the teens, allowing light snow or flurries to mix in at times.

Snow chances remain on Tuesday as colder air deepens over the region. While snowfall is forecast to stay light, forecasters note that temperatures hovering near or below freezing could create slick patches on untreated roads during the morning commute.

NOAA’s 6–10 Day Temperature Outlook places nearly all of Connecticut in the below-normal category for Dec. 1–5, reflecting a widespread cold surge across the Northeast. The Arctic air mass is expected to linger through the week, reinforcing wintry conditions even outside periods of precipitation.

While no major winter storm is currently expected, the combination of colder temperatures, occasional snow showers, and breezy conditions may impact travel across parts of the state.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated local forecasts as early December ushers in a more winterlike pattern for Connecticut.
