New York, NY – Get ready to crank the AC. Temperatures across the tri-state area are climbing sharply Saturday, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s across interior sections of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

According to the National Weather Service in New York, much of the Hudson Valley, northern New Jersey, and inland Connecticut will see highs of 84°F to 87°F through 9 p.m. Saturday. Newark, Morristown, and New Brunswick are among the hottest spots, topping out near 88°F. Meanwhile, cooler ocean air is expected to keep Long Island and coastal Connecticut in the 60s and low 70s.

New York City could hit 87°F in central boroughs, while areas closer to the water like JFK and LaGuardia may stay a few degrees lower. Farther east, Riverhead and Montauk will likely remain in the 50s due to persistent onshore flow.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit strenuous activity during peak heat hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Those living near the coast may still want a light jacket in the evening as temps drop back into the 50s.

No advisories are currently in place, but this unusually warm pattern may continue into early next week.
