Columbia, S.C. – Warm, dry weather will take hold across central South Carolina this weekend, with temperatures climbing into the 80s and breezy conditions at times. The National Weather Service reports Saturday will be partly sunny with highs near 81 degrees, followed by stronger winds Sunday afternoon that could gust up to 21 mph.

According to forecasters, Columbia and surrounding areas including Lexington, Irmo, and Cayce can expect mostly sunny skies through Tuesday. Winds will shift east on Sunday, sustaining between 6 to 10 mph, before easing early next week. Despite the breezes, the stretch of dry weather means no rainfall is expected for travelers, football games, or outdoor events.

Monday and Tuesday will bring some of the warmest days, with highs climbing into the mid-80s and overnight lows staying mild in the mid-60s. The heat may be a reminder of late summer, though humidity will stay manageable. Drivers on I-26 and I-20 should be mindful of occasional gusts, especially during Sunday afternoon travel.

The dry pattern continues into midweek, though forecasters caution temperatures may remain above seasonal norms. More updates will be issued if the breezy conditions shift into stronger winds.
