Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Colorado, with snow expected to accumulate up to 10 inches in some areas. The advisory affects the Eastern San Juan Mountains and Eastern Las Animas County starting at 6 p.m. Friday, continuing until Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin to fall by Friday evening, intensifying overnight. The Eastern San Juan Mountains, above 10,000 feet, could see up to 10 inches of snow, with wind gusts reaching 35 mph. The advisory also covers Eastern Las Animas County, where 2 to 5 inches of snow are forecast, accompanied by winds gusting as high as 45 mph. The weather is expected to create hazardous travel conditions, especially in mountainous regions.

Drivers are urged to use caution, slow down, and check road conditions before traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511. The advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday for the San Juan Mountains and 3 p.m. Saturday for Las Animas County.
