Pueblo, CO – Snow and strong winds are set to impact much of southern Colorado through Wednesday, with up to 6 inches of accumulation expected in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for multiple counties, including El Paso, Pueblo, Fremont, Kiowa, Otero, and Prowers. Snowfall totals will range from 1 to 6 inches, with higher amounts in mountain regions like Wolf Creek Pass and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Winds could gust up to 50 mph, potentially causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.

The advisory will remain active until 5 AM MST Wednesday in higher elevations and until 2 PM MST Wednesday in lower-lying areas such as La Junta and Lamar. Walsenburg, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo could see between 2 and 5 inches of snow, with locally higher totals possible.

Road conditions are expected to become hazardous, particularly during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Authorities advise reducing speed, allowing extra travel time, and checking road conditions by dialing 511.

This storm follows a period of relatively mild weather, marking a return to winter hazards in the region.
