Colorado – Sunny skies and mild temperatures will bring pleasant conditions across the state this weekend, but wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected in the foothills and mountains, potentially impacting travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder, Saturday’s high temperatures will range from the low 50s in the mountains to 63°F in urban areas like Denver. Breezy conditions will develop along the Front Range, with south-southwest winds increasing by the afternoon. Wind gusts may pose challenges for high-profile vehicles traveling on roads like Interstate 70 through mountain passes.

Saturday night will see mostly clear skies and temperatures dipping to around 32°F in the metro area and as low as 20°F in higher elevations. Sunday’s forecast includes continued sunshine and similar temperatures, but winds are expected to taper off.

For the week ahead, Monday brings highs near 56°F with a slight chance of rain late in the evening. Tuesday and Christmas Day will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-50s, though overnight lows will hover near freezing.

Residents and visitors are advised to secure lightweight outdoor items and prepare for rapidly changing weather conditions, especially in the mountains. Stay updated through NWS alerts for any changes to the forecast.
