Pueblo, CO – Strong winds and snowfall are expected to create hazardous conditions across parts of Colorado today and into the weekend. Winds could gust up to 65 mph near the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, while 1 to 3 inches of snow is anticipated over the Continental Divide.

According to the National Weather Service, these conditions will make travel dangerous, particularly along the I-25 corridor from Colorado City to Raton Pass. Higher-elevation routes like Monarch and Fremont Passes may experience slick roads and limited visibility due to wind-driven snow. Drivers are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and secure loose outdoor items as winds of 30 to 40 mph will impact most of the region.

The weekend forecast shows calmer weather returning by Saturday, with sunny skies and highs near 54°F in Pueblo. Breezy conditions will persist, with wind speeds dropping to 15-20 mph. Sunday is expected to be warmer, reaching highs near 59°F.

Looking ahead, Monday will bring cooler temperatures in the upper 40s, but sunny and dry conditions should dominate through midweek. Travelers and residents in high-altitude areas should remain vigilant for changing weather conditions and check for updates on road closures and delays.

Stay prepared by monitoring real-time weather alerts and ensuring vehicles are equipped for winter conditions if travel cannot be avoided.
