Falls City, TX – A minor earthquake struck just north of Falls City on Friday, registering a magnitude of 2.5.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the tremor occurred at 4:19 a.m. local time, roughly one kilometer north-northeast of Falls City. The quake originated at a depth of 10 kilometers. Residents in nearby areas, including south San Antonio, reported mild shaking but no significant damage or injuries.

According to the USGS, the quake had a community intensity level of III, meaning it was weak but noticeable indoors. This is one of several small earthquakes recorded in South Texas this year, sparking ongoing discussion about local seismic activity and potential causes, including natural tectonic shifts and oil and gas operations.
