Grand Junction, CO – A storm system is set to bring light snow to western Colorado tonight, but a warming trend follows into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will develop late Wednesday night, with accumulations of up to 3 inches possible in the northern mountains. The storm will persist through Friday morning before clearing out, leading to drier and milder conditions by Saturday.

Thursday’s high in Grand Junction is expected to reach 51°F with a mix of rain and snow early, followed by partly sunny skies. Temperatures will gradually warm through the weekend, with highs reaching the mid-50s by Saturday and near 59°F on Sunday.

Drivers should use caution on mountain roads, including I-70, as slick conditions are expected. The next chance of precipitation arrives early next week.
