Colorado Springs, Colorado – Storms could stall your Monday afternoon in Colorado Springs as heat and humidity spark scattered thunderstorms after 3 p.m., with more chances returning midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, there’s a 30% to 40% chance of thunderstorms developing Monday afternoon and again on Thursday and Friday. Storms could bring gusty winds and brief downpours, especially near I-25 and eastern El Paso County. Rainfall will remain light for most areas — under one-tenth of an inch — but isolated cells may produce heavier bursts.

Drivers should remain alert for reduced visibility or slick roads on Highway 24 and I-25 during Monday’s commute home. Light winds and humid conditions could also make outdoor plans feel hotter, especially near exposed areas like Palmer Park and Red Rock Canyon.

Tuesday and Wednesday are shaping up drier, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-90s — the hottest stretch of the week. Stay hydrated and limit outdoor work during peak afternoon heat.

By Thursday and Friday, daily thunderstorm chances return, with temperatures staying in the mid-90s. Storms may develop earlier in the afternoon than on Monday, especially near the mountains and into eastern plains.
