Grand Junction, CO – A pleasant start to the week in Colorado will give way to changing conditions by midweek, with rain and mountain snow arriving Thursday and a significant temperature drop on Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Grand Junction, temperatures will remain 5-10 degrees above normal through Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies. Breezy conditions are expected north of I-70 Wednesday afternoon as a weather disturbance moves through.

Clouds will increase Wednesday into Thursday, bringing light rain and snow showers in the mountains. Snow will become more widespread Thursday afternoon into Friday morning before tapering off by Friday afternoon. As the cold front moves through, temperatures will drop sharply Friday.

Grand Junction will see highs around 65°F on Tuesday, falling to 46°F by Friday, while Steamboat Springs will dip from 49°F to 30°F. Durango and Vernal, UT, will also experience notable cooldowns by the end of the week.

Residents should prepare for shifting conditions, especially those traveling through mountain areas. Snow and slick roads may impact commutes Thursday night into Friday. Stay updated with the National Weather Service for the latest advisories.
