The advisory affects Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, and surrounding communities, with travel impacts expected near U.S. Route 6 and Interstate 70 where low-lying valleys may trap cold air.

Residents are urged to protect tender plants, cover outdoor plumbing, and avoid exposing pets to prolonged cold during the early morning hours. Frost-sensitive vegetation and budding crops face a high risk of damage, especially in the Grand Valley and Central Gunnison River Basin.

Saturday will be mostly sunny but cool, with a high near 60°F. Sunday warms to 67°F under clear skies, offering some relief. However, another chill returns Monday night, with lows near 40°F, prompting continued caution for gardeners and growers.
