Colorado Springs, Colorado – A slow-moving spring storm is making weekend travel across southern Colorado tricky, with snow and gusty winds set to linger through Saturday. Drivers in Colorado Springs and along I-25 should expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially Friday night through Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through noon Saturday, with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected in Colorado Springs and the Peterson Space Force Base area. Strong winds will push wind chills into the teens early Saturday, especially along the Rampart Range.

In higher terrain south and west of the city, including the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, snowfall totals could reach 14 inches by Saturday night. Teller County and Monument Ridge may see 4 to 9 inches. Snow will taper Saturday afternoon, but roads will remain slick into the evening.

By Sunday, skies clear briefly, but don’t pack away the coats yet. Monday brings sun and highs in the upper 60s, before a chance of thunderstorms returns Tuesday afternoon, followed by more rain and wind Tuesday night.

5-Day Forecast for Colorado Springs:

  • Saturday: Snow showers likely, high 40°F, gusty winds
  • Sunday: Mostly clear, high near 57°F
  • Monday: Sunny, high 67°F
  • Tuesday: Thunderstorm chance after noon, high 69°F
