Denver, CO – A dangerous cold snap continues today across northeast and north-central Colorado, with wind chills dropping as low as -25°F. Residents should prepare for icy conditions this morning, particularly in northern and eastern plains.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold arctic air mass will remain in place through Thursday, keeping temperatures in the single digits and teens. Wind chills may reach as low as -30°F overnight, making frostbite a concern for exposed skin within minutes. Travelers should use caution on roads as additional light snow accumulation is possible in higher elevations.

By Friday, temperatures will begin to rise, bringing highs near 40°F. A warming trend is expected over the weekend, with highs reaching near 60°F by Sunday, offering a brief taste of spring. Another storm system is expected early next week, potentially bringing more precipitation.

Residents should bundle up today and monitor weather updates for changing conditions. Stay indoors when possible and protect pets from extreme cold.
