GRAND JUNCTION, CO – Western Colorado will enjoy spring-like temperatures to start the week, but changes are on the horizon as a storm system could bring rain and snow by Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, Monday will be sunny with highs reaching 65°F. Light southeast winds will shift southwest by the afternoon. Tuesday will remain mild, with partly sunny skies and highs near 64°F. However, clouds will increase by midweek, signaling a shift in weather patterns.
By Thursday, a cold front will move through the region, bringing a chance of rain and snow showers, particularly in higher elevations. Daytime temperatures will drop to around 60°F, with overnight lows falling into the 30s. Snow showers are expected to persist into Friday, with a stronger storm system possibly arriving late next week.
Travelers along I-70 and in the surrounding mountain areas should monitor forecasts, as road conditions could become slick by Thursday evening. Those in the San Juan Mountains may see accumulating snowfall, while lower elevations could experience mixed precipitation.
The five-day forecast suggests fluctuating temperatures, with a return to drier conditions by the weekend. Residents should enjoy the warm start to the week but prepare for cooler, unsettled weather ahead.
