Colorado EMS Vehicle Crash on Highway 125 Leaves Two First Responders Seriously Injured

Walden, CO – A paramedic and an EMT suffered serious injuries after their EMS vehicle crashed while responding to an emergency.

The crash happened Friday at 11:25 a.m. on Highway 125, north of Walden. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the paramedic and EMT were en route to a medical emergency when their vehicle collided with another car. The impact left both first responders with severe injuries, requiring emergency treatment at a hospital.

The driver and passengers of the other vehicle refused medical attention. Colorado State Patrol investigated the crash and cited the other driver.

Officials expressed relief that the first responders’ injuries were not life-threatening. The Jackson County first responder community is close-knit, and many have rallied in support.

Authorities thanked all agencies that assisted in the emergency response. Community members are encouraged to keep the injured first responders in their thoughts.
