Denver, CO – A strong weather system is set to impact Colorado this weekend, bringing snow, high winds, and hazardous travel conditions. The mountains will see the heaviest snowfall, but metro areas could also be affected.

According to the National Weather Service, gusts could reach 50 mph in some areas Thursday evening, with mountain ridges seeing gusts as high as 60 mph. A cold front Friday night will bring snow showers, with higher elevations receiving several inches of accumulation. Roads, especially in the mountains, may become treacherous.

Saturday remains mostly sunny, but another round of snow is possible late Saturday night into Sunday. Daytime highs will range from the upper 30s to low 50s through the weekend, with nighttime lows dipping into the teens. Light snow may continue into early next week, with increasing chances for accumulation Monday night into Tuesday.

Travelers should check road conditions before heading out, particularly in the mountains. Those in affected areas should secure loose objects outdoors due to strong winds. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts and prepare for winter driving conditions.
