Tulsa, OK – Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas will experience a mix of wintry weather, strong winds, and freezing temperatures this weekend. A cold front will bring rain, thunderstorms, and potential snowfall, followed by dangerously low wind chills.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, gusty southerly winds will increase Friday before shifting to strong northerly winds Saturday and Sunday. Rain and thunderstorms will develop Friday night into Saturday, with chances of light wintry precipitation by Saturday evening.
Localized near-zero wind chills are expected north of I-44 in northeastern Oklahoma on Sunday morning. By Tuesday and Wednesday, subzero wind chills could affect far northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Additional rain and snow could create hazardous travel conditions midweek.
High temperatures Friday and Saturday will reach the upper 40s and 50s before dropping significantly Sunday. Lows next week could fall into the single digits. Residents should prepare for extreme cold and possible icy conditions.
