Monroe County, IL – A multi-county law enforcement effort in 2024 has led to the seizure of 1,000 pounds of marijuana, as sheriffs from Monroe, Washington, and Montgomery counties intensify their crackdown on drug trafficking along Illinois highways.
As part of the yearlong enforcement initiative, authorities have also seized:
• 44 pounds of illegal mushrooms
• Multiple stolen firearms
• Several full extradition warrants executed
• $502,000 in U.S. currency, with an additional $100,000 confiscated in cooperation with Georgia authorities
• A 2023 Toyota Van and a 2019 Chevy Silverado linked to drug trafficking
Authorities across all three counties reaffirm their dedication to proactive enforcement measures throughout the year.
