Grand Junction, CO – The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for the Central Yampa and Colorado River Basins, effective this evening through Tuesday morning.
According to the NWS, temperatures could fall as low as 28 degrees, with frost and freeze conditions posing risks to crops and sensitive plants. Areas under the watch include cities such as Craig, Meeker, Glenwood Springs, and Carbondale. Frost can potentially kill unprotected vegetation, while freezing temperatures may damage outdoor plumbing systems if precautions aren’t taken.
Residents in these areas are urged to protect plants by covering them and to ensure outdoor plumbing is properly insulated. The freeze watch lasts from Monday evening into Tuesday morning.
