Fort Worth, TX – An arctic air mass will bring dangerously cold conditions to North Texas starting this weekend. Residents should prepare for freezing temperatures, gusty winds, and single-digit wind chills through Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, the cold front will arrive late Friday night, dropping temperatures steadily. Saturday will see daytime highs in the 30s, with wind chills plunging into the teens by evening. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the 20s, with winds gusting up to 30 mph.
By Sunday, temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing, with overnight lows in the teens and 20s continuing into next week. Residents are urged to protect the “Four Ps” – People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants. Minimize outdoor exposure, ensure pets are indoors, and insulate exposed pipes.
Officials also recommend opening cabinet doors to warm pipes and covering plants to prevent damage. The wind chill is expected to reach dangerous levels early Sunday morning, potentially dropping to single digits in some areas.
Prepare now for the Arctic blast and stay informed through local weather updates.
