Wilmington, OH – Bitter cold continues across Ohio today, but a much-needed warm-up is on the horizon. With morning temperatures in the teens and highs struggling to reach 30°F, residents will endure one more frigid day before conditions improve.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 30°F, though wind chills will make it feel even colder. Overnight lows will dip to around 13°F, keeping roads slick, especially on bridges and overpasses. Motorists should remain cautious and allow extra time for travel.
The weekend marks a shift toward milder weather. Saturday brings mostly sunny skies and a high of 34°F, while Sunday reaches near 40°F—an improvement after days of Arctic air. Nighttime temperatures will still be chilly, but the gradual warming trend will continue into next week.
By Monday, highs will push into the mid-40s, offering some relief from the deep freeze. While Ohioans may still wake up to frosty mornings, the worst of the cold appears to be moving out. Residents should prepare for icy patches in the mornings but can look forward to a more comfortable stretch of weather ahead.
