Corpus Christi, TX – The National Weather Service has extended both a Coastal Flood Advisory and a High Rip Current Risk for the Texas Islands, including the Aransas, Kleberg, Nueces, and Calhoun islands, through late Friday night. The Coastal Flood Advisory is active until 1 a.m. CDT Saturday, while the High Rip Current Risk persists throughout Friday night.

Minor coastal flooding is expected in low-lying areas, including parks, roads, and lots near the shoreline, with isolated road closures possible. Additionally, dangerous rip currents present a heightened risk to swimmers, with conditions posing a serious threat even to experienced individuals.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time and to avoid driving through flooded areas. Beachgoers should swim near lifeguards and, if caught in a rip current, avoid fighting the current, instead floating and swimming parallel to the shore. Residents in flood-prone areas should take precautions to protect their property and ensure safety during these conditions.
