Jacksonville, FL – The National Weather Service has extended a Coastal Flood Advisory and High Rip Current Risk for Northeast Florida, affecting areas including St. Johns, Clay, Nassau, Duval, and Flagler counties. The Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. EDT Sunday, while the High Rip Current Risk remains active through Saturday night.

Minor coastal flooding is expected along shorelines and low-lying areas, with possible impacts on parks, lots, and roads. Isolated road closures may occur, so travelers are advised to plan for extra time and avoid driving through standing water.

Beachgoers are also advised to exercise caution, as dangerous rip currents pose a significant risk. Swimmers are encouraged to stay near lifeguards and avoid entering the water alone. Those caught in rip currents should remain calm, float, and swim parallel to the shore to escape.

Residents in flood-prone areas should take steps to safeguard their properties.
