Coal City, IL – A Shell gas station in Coal City sold a Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million, making one lucky player an instant millionaire.
The ticket matched all five white ball numbers but missed the Mega Ball in the most recent drawing. According to the Illinois Lottery, the winner has not yet come forward to claim their prize. The Shell station will also receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket, keep it in a safe place, and contact the Illinois Lottery Prize Center to arrange for their prize collection. The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Tuesday, with an estimated jackpot of over $300 million.
