Bald Eagle Township, PA – State police are investigating a burglary at a popular Clinton County restaurant after a suspect allegedly broke in during the early morning hours Friday, December 12, 2025.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police Troop F – Lamar Station, the burglary occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the Rey Azteca restaurant, located at 101 Hogan Blvd. Investigators say the suspect allegedly entered the building through a side door on the east side of the restaurant, using what appeared to be a crowbar-style tool to force entry.
Once inside, police say the suspect allegedly took approximately $2,000 in cash stored inside bank envelopes kept at the host stand in the restaurant’s main lobby. Surveillance video reportedly shows the suspect stuffing the envelopes down the front of their pants.
Troopers say the suspect then attempted to access the cash register using the same prying tool, removing an additional $280 in cash. The register was damaged during the attempt and rendered inoperable, with an estimated damage value of $195.
Video surveillance inside the restaurant shows the suspect wearing jeans, a collared coat, and a hooded sweatshirt underneath. Police say the suspect’s face was mostly concealed with an unknown cloth material, and the hood was pulled tight and tied off, preventing cameras from capturing a clear image of the suspect’s identity.
Investigators also noted the suspect wore a baseball cap, prescription glasses, and gloves during the commission of the crime.
