Cleveland, Ohio – Temperatures are rising into the 40s and 50s across northern Ohio before a colder shift arrives Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, warmer-than-average conditions are expected Wednesday, followed by a slight cooldown Thursday. A more significant warmup is forecast Friday into early weekend, with highs reaching the upper 40s to low 50s across much of the region.

Cities including Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, Mansfield, and Youngstown are projected to see Friday highs between 49 and 52 degrees. Overnight lows are expected to remain above freezing in many locations, reducing the risk of widespread ice formation on major roadways such as Interstate 90, Interstate 71, and Interstate 77.

In northwest Pennsylvania, including Erie near I-90, forecasters note a low-end chance of periodic light snow showers through tonight. Accumulation is expected to be minimal, but brief slick spots could develop during overnight hours.

Dry conditions are expected to dominate Thursday and Friday before a cold front moves through Saturday. That system will bring a return to colder air, with weekend highs dropping back into the 20s and 30s across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania.

The temperature swing may impact early morning commuters along I-75 and US-30, particularly where melting snow refreezes after the colder air returns.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates as the weekend front approaches.
